Padma Sri to Brahmanandam
After Allu Ramalingaiah, we have another Telugu comedian
credited with the coveted title ‘Padma Sri’. It is none other
than our own comedy king Brahmanandam who is having a field day
by being one of the crowd pullers for many of recent hits like
Dhee, Ready, Krishna and Jalsa. Brahmanandam got the rare
distinction of entering Guinness book of world records as an

Akshay Kumar likes Maska
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has seen Maska film and liked it.
He is contemplating the idea of remaking it in Hindi. The
representative of Venus are coming from Mumbai tomorrow to
watch the film and negotiate the terms with the producer MS
Raju.
40 days of Kick in abroad
Ravi Teja’s latest film Kick will be shot entensively in abroad
for 40 days. This 40 days shoot will consist of canning some
talkie part, few action sequences and a couple of songs. The
unit will go abroad on 4th February. Ileana is doing female
lead. Surender Reddy is directing the film. Rasool Ellore
handles cinematography.
Paruchuri pens for Krishna Vamsi’s next
Paruchuri brothers are penning dialogues for Krishna Vamsi’s
next project. This film will feature Srikanth as hero.
Incidentally, this film will be the 100th film of Srikanth.
Srikanth gave terrific performance as cop in Krishna Vamsi’s
Khadgam in the past.

IT raid on Arundhati office
Income Tax officials raided the officer of Shyam Prasad Reddy
on 22 January. Shyam Prasad Reddy’s latest film Arundhati
started off with terrific box office report. Shyam Prasad Reddy
did not sell the distribution rights to anybody in India. All
the money Arundhati collected in India will reach the coffers
of Shyam. When contacted about the IT raid, Shyam confirmed it
by saying he will have to sit with them today to explain about
first week collections.
Rahul Nambiar to direct Shyam’s next film
Rahul Nambiar – the visual effects supervisor and creative
director of Arundhati – will be directing the next venture of
Shyam Prasad Reddy. This film could be the Hindi remake of
Arundhati or a straight Telugu film. As per the sources of
idlebrain.com, Rahul Nambiar directed more than 50% of
Arundhati film. More details later.

Slumdog Millionaire nominated for Oscars
Slumdog Millionaire got nominated in 10 categories for Oscar
Awards 2009. These categories are best motion picture, best
director, best achievement in cinematography, achievement in
film editing, achievement in music written for motion pictures
(original score – AR Rehman), Best achievement in music written
for motion pictures (original songs – Jai Ho & O Saya),
Achievement in Sound Editing, Achievement in Sound Mixing and
Adapted screenplay. AR Rehman’s work got nominated thrice (one
for music and two for songs).
Arundhati prints number reaches 250
Arundhati film was released with 100 prints. With tremendous
mouth talk spreading life a wild fire, the producer had immense
pressure to increase the prints all over. He added prints to
various centers in a staggered manner. The total number of
prints will reach to 250 by tomorrow. In Prasads, Arundhati was
released with three shows. From tomorrow, the shows number will
be increased seven (including one show in IMAX screen). In a
center like Ongole, Arundhati is still running with 6 shows a
day. Arundhati is going to release with 12 prints in USA on 23
January.
