Actress Swathi (heroine of Ashta Chemma) offered prayers at the
temple of Goddess Padmavathi at Tiruchanur, 5 Km from Tirupati.
The temple authorities arranged special dharshan for her and
family members, besides giving the traditional ashirwachan to
the actress. On seeing Swathi, a good number of pilgrims
surrounded her. She freely interacted with them and gave her
autographs to the enthusiastic youth.
Ramya Krishna gets 292 votes
Former heroine Ramya Krishna got elected to the Executive
committee of the Movie Artistes Association, getting 292 votes
in her favor. Rajiv Kanakala obtained 300 votes. AVS, who
recently underwent liver transplantation, got 266 votes.
Generally, only the prime posts like President and GS will have
the focus in the association elections. But, this time the
contest for the executive committee members also went on
prestigious lines, inviting stiff fight on the sides.

Chiru is daydreaming: Rajasekhar
Hero Rajasekhar today said that he was ready to contest against
Praja Rajyam Party President Chiranjeevi provided the Congress
High command should give the green signal. "To become the Chief
Minister of Andhra Pradesh will ever remain the daydream of
Chiranjeevi," the actor, who recently took Congress-theerth
predicted.
NBK mourns producer's demise
Nandamuri Balakrishna, who took part in the last rites of
producer S. Gopal Reddy at Naidupet on Saturday, said that he
just couldn't believe the hard truth that he is no more. "His
demise is a personal loss to me. Bhargav Arts is like own
production house for me and my fans. It's my luck that I acted
in the film Mangammagari Manavadu with Bhargav Arts during the
beginning of my career. Later, all the films that I did on this
banner like Muddula Krishnaiah, Muvva Gopaludu, Muddula
Mavayya, Muddula Menalludu earned special place in film
industry. Gopal Reddy is a good friend of mine and a
well-wisher. I pray to God Almighty that may his soul rest in
peace."
Sivaji-Bharath in action film
A new movie starring Sivaji and Bharath (of X Class and Sawal
fame) will be launched in the direction of debutant Kalasagar
soon. It is reliably learnt that the producers of the film
Geetha, which received critical appreciation but couldn't make
a mark at the BO, are going to make the film. This is an action
film with emphasis on the screenplay. Kalasagar is an NRI, who
did engineering in Hyderabad, before moving to the US for his
MS and settling there. His passion for films made him work with
Ravi Babu as his assistant for the films Party and Anasuya.
Currently, he is doing as the associate director for the film
Sneha Geetham (in the direction of Madhura Sridhar Reddy). The
flood of US-based NRIs as Tollywood directors commenced with
Sekhar Kammula, followed by Krishh (Gamyam) and Hari Yelleti
(APF).
