Gowtam – Mahesh film details
Gowtam Menon is going to direct Mahesh Babu soon. Speaking to
idlebrain.com, Gowtam Menon said, “My next straight film in
Telugu is with Mahesh Babu as hero. Manjula produces the film
on Indira Productions banner. AR Rehman will compose music for
the first time to a film of mine. It is a yuppie and trendy
love story. I gave the bound script to Manjula. They are
getting the dialogue version ready in Telugu.”
Malaysia mania for Tollywood
Four films are shooting extensively in Malaysia this month.
Bala Krishna’s latest film in the direction of Mahadev will
shoot from 16 November to 10 December in Malaysia. Pawan
Kalyan’s ‘Komuram Puli’ will be shot for 10 days from 12
November. Prabhas’s Billa film has Malaysia backdrop and it
will be shot extensively from 14 November to 6 January. They
also shoot action episodes and chasing sequences in Malaysia.
Manoj’s latest film in Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is currently being
shot in the airport of Malaysia and the backdrop for the entire
film is Malaysian airport. If you walk on the streets of
Malaysia, you might find out one of these big heroes looking at
you.
Jyothy Lakshmi as Namitha’s mother
Jyothy Lakshmi is the yesteryear’s erotic dancer in Telugu
films. She acted in Vithalacharya’s blockbuster ‘Jaganmohini’.
A film is currently being remade in Telugu with the same title.
Namitha is acting as Jaganmohini. Raja and Meera Chopra play
other important roles. Jyothy Lakshmi is doing the role of
Namitha’s mother in this film.

VSR Swamy is no more
Popular cinematographer VSR Swamy (photo) expired today early
morning at Machilipatnam due to critical illness. He went to
Machilipatnam to attend relative’s marriage. His body is taken
to Chennai today. VSR Swamy was born in Valipattipadu near
Gudiwada. He worked for many hit films like Alluri Seetarama
Raju, Mosagallaku Mosagadu, Bhakta Kannappa, Siri Siri Muvva,
Khaidi, Narasimha Naidu, Indra etc. He also produced a film
titled Edureeta with legend NTR. May his soul rest in peace.
Nandi awards in LB stadium
Government is planning to showcase Nandi Awards as Congress’s
strength this year. Mahesh Babu got the best actor award for
Pokiri film and Krishna is going to be awarded NTR award. With
Mahesh and Krishna being in the side of Congress, the
government is going to hold the Nandi awards function as a
public function in Lal Bahaddoor Sastri stadium amid lakhs of
fans of Krishna and Mahesh Babu. Generally, Nandi awards
functions are being carried up in Lalitha Kala Thoranam with
limited crowds every year. But for this year, the government
wants to get political mileage out of it. The function will be
held on 16 of this month which incidentally is the day
Chiranjeevi starts his Praja Ankita Yatra in Rayalaseema.
Another Sekhar’s protégé as director
Sekhar Kammula’s protégés Anish Kuruvilla and Sai Kiran Adivi
are coming up with their directorial debuts Avakai Birani and
Vinayakudu which are due for the release on 14 November and 21
November respectively. We have another Sekhar’s protégé Anand
Ravi ready to make the debut as director. Anand Ravi worked
with Sekhar Kammula for Godavari and Happy Days. This film
sports all new faces. It will be launched in the year of 2009.
Smita delivers her promise
Smita's search for a perfect dance troupe from A.P. started
through "Tata Indicom Dance With Me-Smita" a few months ago in
the form of a reality show for Maa TV produced by Smita through
her production house I Candy Entertainment Pvt.Ltd. 650
participants from various parts of A.P. were screened during
auditions and 36 dancers were selected to participate in the
show. After several episodes and elimination rounds 11
participants were declared as the finalists of the show and
these eleven will form a part of Smita's Dance troupe who will
accompany her on her shows. Smita promised earlier that she
would make the finalists of this show as a part of her dance
shows.
