Chiru is not God: Vijayshanti
Actress and Talli Telangana party leader Vijayashanti today questioned the silence of actor Chiranjeevi over the Telengana issue. Talking to reporters at her party office, Vijayashanti said that Chiranjeevi was neither a god or nor a person who is capable of doing miracles. "What is the specialty and greatness of Chiranjeevi?", she asked. She found fault with the media, which she alleged, is tilting in favor of Chiranjeevi and giving him publicity though he has not clarified his political stand till date. She was also critical of the media for not giving publicity to her party and its struggle for Telangana cause.

No politics in fans activities: Minister
Health minister Galla Arunakumari today clarified that the welfare activities of the fans of Mahesh and Krishna has nothing to do with politics. The minister, who is related to Krishna (as her son married Krishna's daughter), said that Krishna's family was actively involved in social service activities since three decades, but they stayed away from publicity. She attended a medical camp organized by the fans at Institute of Preventive Medicine at Narayanaguda in Hyderabad. The association president Diddi Rambabu said that had only Krishna family went in for publicity, it could have easily entered the records of the Guinness Book for the blood donation camps organized in a massive manner, away from media blare. Currently, the fans are celebrating the week-long Birthday celebrations of the young superstar, with the day falling on August 9.

Rajnikanth prays at Tirumala
Superstar Rajnikanth today offered prayers at the famous hilltop temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. A mammoth crowd thronged him at the temple entrance, but the police personnel controlled the situation. He told the media that he was leaving for the US as part of his forthcoming film with Shankar - Robot. He expressed satisfaction that Kathanayakudu was received well by the Telugu audiences. Interestingly, the superstar enjoyed the Friendship Day at Tirupati, the previous day.

Ilayaraja for Mallepuvvu fete
The music of Samudra’s latest film Mallepuvvu will be released on 4 August in Hyderabad. Maestro Ilayaraja will be gracing this occasion. Prabhas will be another guest of honor. Poster designer turned director Ramesh Varma provided story for this film starring Bhumika Chawla and Murali Krishna. Maestro Ilayaraja scored 8 songs for this film. Mohan Vadapatla produces this film. The producer printed a huge brochure for Mallepuvvu by spending over 15 lacs.

Bhumika Chawla adds Takhore to her name
In a recent Bhumika Chawla interview done by idlebrain.com, Bharat Takhore categorically said that he would prefer Bhumika Chawla to retain her name instead of having Takhore. But looks like Bhumika prefers to have Takhore as her surname in the credits. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Bhumika’s name will be splashed as Bhumika Chawla Takhore in the title cards of her forthcoming film Mallepuvvu.

JD Chakri scores music
JD Chakravarthy has composed all songs but one in his directorial flick Homam featuring Jagapati Babu and Mamata Mohandas. Incidentally JD Chakri’s mother Kovela Santha is a noted singer and a knowledgeable musician. JD Chakri is donning three roles of actor, director and music director for Homam film. This film is due for the release in the last week of this month.

Mass director Boyapati Seenu who gave back-to-back blockbusters Bhadra and Tulasi is going to wield mega phone for this film. This film will be the next venture of Gopichand after Souryam.
