Gayam II, the much-pampered project of Jagapati Babu and a
sequel to RGV's Gayam, is expected to roll in November.
Debutant Praveen Sri is going to direct the film. Revathi and
Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, who acted in Gayam, will also be
making their presence in the sequel. An unofficial version goes
that Bipasa Basu will be the heroine, while it was Urmila in
the former.
BJP objects to Raktha Charitra
Anantapur district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party expressed
its objection to the title of Ramgopal Varma's film Raktha
Charitra. A big gathering of activists led by the local leaders
gheraoed Varma at SS Gate area when he was on his way to
Bangalore after meeting Paritala Sunita, wife of slain-leader
Paritala Ravindra. They demanded Varma to spell out who was the
real hero in the film – whether Ravi or Suri. Varma assured
them that the film was completely aimed at providing a good
message to the people. Interestingly, the followers of Paritala
family were escorting Varma. The BJP leaders submitted a
representation to Varma, seeking change of the title Raktha
Charitra in view of its violent appeal.
Rs. 5 Cr film on Satya Saibaba
Noted Bollywood astrologer Deepak Pandit said that a
full-length devotional film on Bhagwan Sri Satya Saibaba will
be shot and completed by 2009. After having dharshan of Baba at
Puttaparthi, Pandit said that so far there is no full-fledged
Telugu film on Baba, but for minor TV serials. "Our proposed
film will be coming up with a budget of more than Rs. 5 crore
in the direction of Rajiv Khandelwal. Sankar SS will be scoring
the music. The film will be done in Telugu and Hindi first, and
will be dubbed into all Indian languages in a phased manner."
Anant Sriram's lyrics for Congress
Young lyricist Anant Sriram, who penned lyrics for
Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party, today met the chief minister
Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy. He told the media that Dr. YSR asked
him to write lyrics for Congress party also. "I feel happy to
work for all political parties," the lyricist said.
Jeevitha missed Cong Mahila chief post
Setting aside the widespread speculation that former actress
and producer Jeevitha Rajasekhar might take over the reigns of
the Congress Party Mahila wing, the party's state high command
today appointed Ganga Bhavani as the president of the wing. For
the last few weeks, the senior party leaders were engaged to
hectic exercise over selection of the right candidate with
oratory skills who could effectively counter the rival parties.
Though the name of Jeevitha was under consideration, the final
result went in favor of Ganga Bhavani. It is observed that
Jeevitha's prowess would also be utilized for the party in some
other manner by fielding her against crucial rivals.
Kausalya Supraja Rama Express
Movie moghal Dr. D. Ramanaidu expressed high confidence about
the success of his ready for release film Kausalya Supraja
Rama, starring Srikanth and Charmme in the lead roles. Made on
Suresh Productions banner, the film directed by Suryaprasad is
going to hit the marquee on October 9th, Vijayadasami Day. "I
am planning to launch the publicity in a grand manner. At first
leg, a train will be launched from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam
and it might be named as Kausalya Supraja Rama Express."
Ramanaidu further said he would be arranging a media tour of
his Vizag studio for Hyderabad film journalists soon.

Chiru's tour from Arasavalli
The much-awaited districts-tour of Praja Rajyam Party president
Chiranjeevi will take of from the famous Arasavalli Surya
Devalayam (Sun temple) in Srikakulam district on October 9th,
Vijayadasami day. After performing pujas at the temple, the
yatra will commence in the afternoon to pass through
Srikakulam, Narasannapet, Tekkali, Palasa, Sompeta, Kaviti,
reaching Itchapuram. The tour will consist of Vijayanagaram and
Visakhapatnam districts also. The route-map was ratified by the
PRP president at a meet held with the key functionaries at the
party office. The groundwork for the proposed mega tour
commenced today and Chiru has decided not allocate time for any
other programme other than the present venture.
