Ileana in Rajni's Sultan
Hourglass heroine Ileana is finalized as the heroine in Rajnikanth's 2D animation film Sultan the Warrior. The film is produced and directed by Rajni's daughter Soundarya with joint participation of Warner Bros. The project cost is projected as Rs. 200 crores. With this Ileana happens to be the first Indian heroine to come up with a full-fledged 2D animated character. In August, Rajni and Ileana will take part in a shooting schedule in Hyderabad. The output would be later converted into 2D format. The two would also be flying abroad for similar shots.

Film stars celebrate Guru Purnima
Film actor Mohan Babu accompanied by his actor-son Manoj Kumar today performed pujas at the temple of Bhagwan Shirdi Sai at Filmnagar, Hyderabad. Marking the auspicious occasion of Gurupurnima festival, a Varuna Homam was performed. Film personalities, including Naresh (a BJP functionary also), Lagadapati Sridhar, Nookarapu Suryaprakasa rao and others participated in the event. Chiranjeevi's wife Surekha performed special pujas on this occasion.

Meera Chopra for Sharwanand
Meera Chopra, who made her debut with Pawan Kalyan's Bangaram, couldn't make it big despite giving a second film Vaana. Now, she is roped in for Chandra Siddarth's film with Sharwanand as hero. The film said to be a romantic entertainer will commence its shoot in August. The girl is currently engaged to a Tamil film.

Satwik Creations film launched
A new movie with debutants Ravikiran and Hamsita on Satwik Creations banner is launched today at Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad. Produced by V. Ravi Babu, the flick has debut director Nedhunuri Srinivasa Rao. Senior director B. Gopal clapped the muhurt short on the lead pair, while artiste Sudhakar switched on the camera. Music is by Saketh Sairam. Producer V. Ravibabu said that he was very much impressed with the script when it was narrated to him. "It is a love story. Senior artistes were selected to play key roles in this film. The present schedule will run for a couple days."

NTR as cop in Vinayak film?
Though the NTR-VV Vinayak combine film was launched some time back, nothing much is known about it later. Latest, the buzz is that NTR is doing the role of a police officer in that film. With this, all generations of Nandamuri clan will be completing playing the cop's role. While late NTR ripped the screen in the film Kondaveeti Simham, it was Balakrishna who did a memorable performance in Rowdy Inspector. Harikrishna appeared as cop in YVS Chowdary's Seethaiah. Latest, Nandamuri Kalyanram does the cop role in Hare Ram, releasing tomorrow.

Roja to take on Jeevitha?
Actress Jeevita's entry into the Congress Party along with her hubby Rajasekhar became the bone of contention for former heroine and TDP's mahila leader Roja. Earlier, Roja said she was prepared to contest against Chiranjeevi if the party high command would desire so. Jeevitha even before joining the Congress received good public response to her argument-like speeches on the TVs. The Congress party too has considered her as an asset to the campaigning. At this juncture, the TDP is keen on focusing the strength of Roja against Jeevitha. The womenfolk have also found a good arguer in Roja. There is a possibility of both clashing at the ensuing elections. Roja lost to a local strongman (now state minister) Changa Reddy from Nagari in the last elections.

Ali with 6packs in Salute
Lead comedian Ali will be seen in his 6-pack attire in a song sequence in Vishal's latest film Salute. A bust size fiber mould with 6packs and heavy muscles was put on Ali for this purpose. It seems it has become a fad now to make satire on 6packs. Interestingly, hero Vishal too developed the packs in this film. It is set for release on I-Day.

Yogi song of Egypt
The unit of Yogi has already shot a couple of songs of Canada. Now d unit will be traveling to Egypt
to shoot another song fr 1st onwards on Prabhas n Nayana Tara. Another song will be shot of Hyderabad
of d next month. tis film was directed by VV Vinayak. n tis film was a remake of Kannada blockbuster
Jogi. Ramana Gogula provides music. P Ravindranath Reddy (Kadapa Mayor) was producing tis film on
Eeswari banner. tis film will be released on 9th of January 2007.

Desa Muduru on 12th January
Puri Jagan’s latest film Desa Muduru with Allu Arjun as hero will be releasing on 12th of January 2007
as Sankranthi special. Hansika Motwani was making her debut as heroine with tis film. Chakri composes
music. Bhagawan n Danayya produce tis film.

Dil Raju’s future projects
Dil Raju was planning to produce two films. His next film of d direction of Bhaskar (Bommarillu fame)
will start of June 2007. He will be introducing another talent called Raj Kumar of Telugu of d March
of next year. d cast n crew details will be revealed later.

Maya Bazaar on 1st December
The release of Mohana Krishna Indraganti’s film Maya Bazaar with Raja n Bhumika of d main leads was
shifted fr 23rd November to 1st December. tis release was postponed due to a couple of censor
objections which could be resolved using graphics work. d movie was postponed because tis graphics
work will take a few days.

Poonam Kaur who won Miss Andhra crown last year had to change her name to Deepa on d suggestion of
numerologist. But she could not get any commercial success as her films tumbled at box office. Now she
rechristened her name as Poonam Kaur n acting of a Tamil film. Now she wants to be referred as Poonam
Kaur. Let us hope tat change of screen name would fetch good luck to her.

Swayam Krushi kid turns hero
Arjun who acted as child artist of films like Swayam Krushi, Pachani Kapuram, Bhale Tammudu etc was
making his debut as hero of a film titled ‘Bhale Kurradu’. tis film was being made of three south
Indian languages. Naz n Seema Shetty are playing female leads. Arjun has acted of two Kannada films as
hero of d past. tis was his first film of Telugu.
