Bollywood News - Govinda is eager to work with David Dhawan
Bollywood actor Govinda is very excited about getting together with David Dhawan
and producer Vashu Bhagnani again and says he will create something thoroughly
entertaining.

'We've created quite a sensation in the past with 'Hero No. 1' and 'Coolie No.
1'. We'll definitely create full entertainment again. Yes, it'll be a comedy.
I'll try my level best that we come back with a film that will do justice to all
three of us,' says Govinda.
Bollywood Star Govinda says he owes his comeback to David Dhawan.
'It's something I learnt from Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan. When he needed to make a
comeback, he called Yash Chopra for 'Mohabbatein'. Similarly, when I needed to
come back I rang up David and he gave me 'Partner'.'
Govinda has no qualms in admitting he was influenced by the Big B.
'Yeah, I copied Mr. Bachchan. I'm not anything like Mr Bachchan, but why
shouldn't I copy a man as great as him? If he can reach out to a filmmaker, why
can't I? David is such a big man. Today, if he asks me to do another film with
him, I don't even need to think about it - I will do it blindly.'
Bollywood actor Govinda has never been more charged about his career.
'I don't really care what people say about me. All I know is I'm doing my work
with sincerity. And I've become very punctual. I reach my sets on time. I'm not
here to create any problems for anyone. If I'm doing my work quietly, why are
some people troubled by it? But I'm not going to get rattled.'
Govinda, who joined politics and earned a lot of flak from colleagues in the
party, has no regrets.
'I don't regret anything, not even my entry into politics. I respect politicians
because they are doing their jobs very efficiently. But the fame and fortune
I've got has come through Mata Saraswati, my art (movies). No one has the right
to eye my career and try to ruin it.'
Kumar Mangat, producer of Govinda's 'Money Hai To Honey Hai', added: 'A miracle
happened during the shooting. We finished Govindaji's work in 60 days when we
had reserved 85 days for him. In Mauritius, where we shot most of the film,
Govinda was the first of the cast to wake up.
'In fact, he'd wake me up and we'd have our morning tea together. I remember we
had to shoot at a discotheque in Mauritius. We had to reach at 8 a.m. and all we
saw were the janitors at work. That's how punctual Govinda has become.'
In fact, Mangat is planning another film with Govinda this year.
'He's a pleasure to work with,' the producer said

MUMBAI: She feels tat inspite of being exposed 2 n lot of influences, d glamour
n sizzle of d screen has not overshadowed her real life simplicity.
Lara talks about her upcoming releases, performances in that em numbers, long
time boyfriend Kelly Dorjy, n her relationship wit rival Priyanka Chopra.

What sort of n person are you?
Though I've been exposed 2 n lot of influences I basically come from n
traditional Punjabi family. That, I think, gives me n edge. I can b sensuous as
well as
d girl next door. I may have exposed
my bellydesi masala mallu indian actresson in films. But in real life I've never
worn n top tat exposes my midriff.

Raj Kumar Santoshi handled dat well. We shot 4 12 hours n day over n period of
five days. 2 maintain tat level of energy over tat period of time wasn't easy.
But d response has been quite overwhelming. People have called from outside
India because they want 2 hear my voice after seeing d song.
But those are Sunidhi Chauhan's vocals. As Jaya (Bachchan) jokingly said, "I
can't wait 2 see you perform tat song at d next public concert."
Weren't you apprehensive about doing n that em song so early in your career?
I was. But d decisive factor was Raj Santoshi. I hadn't met him before. But he
had n track record of successful that em
songs wit Mamta Kulkarni in Ghaatak ,
Urmila Matondkar in China Gate n Lajja ; so dat wasn't just n exploitative
gimmick.

Hindi films no longer shy away from d taboo subject of intimacy. Take d
recently released Aruna Raje's Tum, which revolves around desi masala mallu

d film showed Manisha Koirala in bed wit her husband (Rajat Kapoor) n lover
(Karan Nath) on different occasions. n d
actors never looked more
uncomfortable. d scenes lacked any chemistry or sincerity.

of d closet, they are still extremely uncomfortable about that .
Why do dat if you are so nervous about that ?
Koirala was just as uncomfortable in her previous film, Ek Chhotisi Love
Story, n frame-to-frame copy of d Polish film, n Short Story About Love.
Finally, n body double did d needful. Even Raveena Tandon n Nagarjuna seemed
forced in n intimate scene in Agni Varsha.
Some films play safe bi showing only dark outlines of d couple in bed like
Parinda, Freaky Chakra n Maqbool.
This s not 2 mean tat we need 2 show more sizzle on screen. d point is, y
are our filmmakers trying 2 incorporate 'scenes' when actors don't seem 2 b
ready 4 them? Sure, we should change wit d changing times. But wouldn't dat
make better sense 4 filmmakers 2 make sure d actors are set 2 play d part
convincingly rather than fumble through that ?
Of course, there are those tat take convincing 2 another level: Rahul Bose n
Laila Roudesi masala mallu indian actress kissed so pdesi masala mallu
indian actressionately in Dev Benegal's Split Wide Open tat her tooth
chipped. Naseeruddin Shah shocked viewers when he kissed Tara Deshpande wit
fervor in Bombay Boys.
There s also n Mallika Sherawat who proudly announces tat 17 kisses in n
film do not bother her, n Bipasha Basu who does not mind n bold Jism n n
Jackie Shroff, who smooched without abandon in Boom.
Govind Menon's debut film, Danger, was promoted bi that s aggressive kissing
scenes. d film had nothing more 2 offer. His second film, Khwahish, was
promoted in n similar fashion. Ek Chhotisi Love Story was promoted as n
sizzling tale, wit billboards showing n boy skiing or playing golf off n
woman's naked body.
Sure, desi masala mallu indian actress s coming out into d open in d Hindi
film industry. Filmmakers are also capitalising on d trend, d better 2 lure
viewers. Most of them tend 2 handle intimate scenes erotically, rather than
sensitively.
Which brings us 2 d audiences. Are we, d audience, ready 4 tis boldness,
considering desi masala mallu indian actress has always been treated as
taboo in India?
